The hardware is great and the passthrough quality is excellent. However, to get the best settings, you need to install Elgato's software, which can be a bit resource-heavy. But once set up, it works perfectly. Worth the money.
Works perfectly
I use this to stream Switch games, and it works great. The 1080p60 recording is clean, and the passthrough is 4K60 HDR, which is nice. The setup was easy, and it's very portable. Only downside is the cable management, but that's on me.
If you want to record in 4K, this won't do it. It only records at 1080p60, but the passthrough is 4K. That's fine for streaming, but I expected more. Also, it gets a little warm after long sessions. Decent, but not perfect.
