Capture card essentials

Get the most from your Plugable capture card

Connect the capture card's HDMI input to your source and use the USB output to your computer. Choose the capture card as the video source in OBS, Streamlabs, or other software. If you see a black screen, disable HDCP on the source device or use a capture card that supports HDCP. For audio, select the capture card as an audio device and sync settings to avoid drift. This card supports 1080p60, ideal for gaming and webcam use.

Why won't my Plugable HDMI capture card record Netflix or Blu-ray?

Most streaming services and Blu-ray discs use HDCP copy protection. The capture card is not able to bypass HDCP, so the video appears black. You'll need an HDCP-compliant capture card or an external HDCP stripper, but recording protected content may violate terms of service.

How do I fix audio sync issues with my Plugable HDMI capture card?

In your recording software, set the capture card as the audio source and adjust the audio offset to align with video. Use the capture card's audio input directly to avoid sync drift.

Can I use this Plugable capture card with my PS5?

Yes, but remember to disable HDCP on the PS5 for gameplay capture. Go to Settings > System > HDMI > Enable HDCP and turn it off. Then connect the HDMI and USB cables.
