Razer Viper 8KHz Ultralight Ambidextrous Wired Gaming Mouse — ESL Edition
The Razer Viper 8KHz is an esports-grade wired mouse that pushes input latency to near zero with a true 8000Hz polling rate. At just 71 grams, its symmetric ambidextrous shape fits a wide range of grips. Inside, a Razer Focus+ 20K DPI optical sensor with motion sync and asymmetric cut-off delivers flawless tracking, while 2nd-gen optical switches register up to 8x faster for instant response.
Setting Up 8000Hz HyperPolling
To enable 8K polling, install Razer Synapse and connect the mouse to a USB 3.0 port. In Synapse, go to Performance and select 8000Hz. Note that higher polling rates use more CPU, but the Viper 8KHz is optimized to minimize overhead. On high-end systems, you'll notice smoother cursor movement and less input lag in fast-paced games.
Feet Replacement and Maintenance
Over time, mouse feet wear out. The Viper uses PTFE feet (Mouse Skates) that you can replace. Clean the base, gently remove old feet, and apply new ones. This restores glide and keeps the mouse performing at its best.
Build and Design
The Speedflex cable minimizes drag, and the ambidextrous shape is comfortable for left- and right-handed users. Eight programmable buttons with advanced on-board memory support up to 5 profiles, including Hypershift for double the inputs. The ESL Edition features a stylish design with Chroma RGB lighting.
